The Canopy of Salt Water

In the beginning of time—when things began—our atmosphere, gravity, and Earth were slightly different than today. How were they different? There were higher oxygen concentrations in the atmosphere, a larger buoyancy force, weaker net gravity, more usable land for vegetation, no oceans (only seas that were smaller in volume), no polar ice caps, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no forest fires from lightning, no deserts, no four seasons, and no hydrological cycle to produce rain. We will explore each of these items and explain how they are not only possible, but probable, and we will provide the evidence to uncover hidden truths.
There is one thing that can cause all the above listed conditions to exist; it is the canopy of salt water that surrounded earth’s atmosphere. The canopy existed from the second day of creation (if Genesis is literal— ~4,000 BC, or if Genesis is figurative— ~billions of years ago) to the global flood at ±2,348 BC. The two dimensional cross sections below, is to illustrate that the canopy was initially spherical around the atmosphere and morphed over time to a disk-like shape. The proportions are not meant to be exact, only to provide a visual of the hypothesis.

This chapter will focus on the canopy of salt water that surrounded the atmosphere before the global flood of Gen. 7 and that was one of the sources of the Flood. Gen. 7 is a narrative of the canopy coming down upon the earth for 40 days and 40 nights that changed the environmental conditions on earth to our present environment. This resulted in increased gravity, decreased buoyancy force, decreased oxygen concentration, and a reduction in the longevity of life and the size of living beings inhabiting the earth.[expander_maker more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]
In the beginning of life on earth, there was a canopy that surrounded our atmosphere that initially hovered spherically around the planet and morphed over time from the lunar pull and centripetal force to thicken at the equator and thin at the poles, until a visible arch could be seen in the sky. How do we know that there was a canopy surrounding our atmosphere? First, we must start from the beginning before the earth and galaxies were finished forming. In the beginning, God created (from His essence) all the matter and energy, in a confined space. At this moment, water and dirt were tightly packed. Though there was darkness, all the future stars, planets, and moons, were coalescing (gathering matter), and this caused heat. On the outside of the small universe, away from the hot coalescing future stars, there was an external shell of thick ice, this sealed in the pressure. The combination of the two, heat and pressure, allowed for water to exist in liquid form, and the earth was shapeless and void of life (Gen. 1:2). That is the first hours of the first day of creation. Let’s focus on the water for a little bit.
Where was the water located? The water was located throughout a small universe and in our even smaller solar system. At this point in Gen. 1:2, there was nothing with form, no light, and no life, and the universe was squished to the size of many galaxies (± several hundred galaxies). Gen. 1:2 says, “The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.” Why is waters plural? This probably refers to the four forms that water exists in: liquid, solid, gas, and plasma, and to the abundance of water. “In the beginning,” the earth, sun, moon, and stars, were not finished forming yet. They were all spinning and coalescing matter (shapeless and void of life). The word deep is used to refer to abundant waters in the Pentateuch (Bible books 1–5). How do we know this? Gen. 7:11 cites the “fountains of the deep.”1 The same author uses the same Hebrew word, and the same definition, meaning vast caverns of water. This is what most theologians agree upon. However, there are other words within the definition of deep that lend a broader view; for example, deep also implies an abyss, a deep place, and depth. So when I look upon the surface of the earth, I see locations where lava, ash, and soil have burst out of volcanoes as fountains. If the fountains of the deep were volcanoes that erupted—then this means that a double portion of water was stored in the canopy of water around the atmosphere, which doubles the buoyant force and weakens gravity by almost 50% from the current magnitude.
Let’s venture into some chemistry and physics to determine how water could exist in four forms (solid, liquid, gas, and plasma) before the formation of the sun, moon, and stars. Someone could ask, “How could water exist in liquid form, when there was no sun for heat?” There is a simple twofold solution to this problem. The first is salt and minerals. Water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) when it is purely H2O. But if we add NaCl (sodium chloride = salt), this lowers the freezing point of water, which means the temperature has to be much lower than 0°C / 32°F for water to freeze. For example, saturated salt water will freeze at -21°C / -5.8°F. This is why cities distribute salt on the roads to prevent ice forming on the roads.
